Responsible for providing overall management of Operations Directors for an assigned geographic division within the company. This includes responsibility for the strategic alignment, profitability, and management of these personnel within the assigned operational unit.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
• The Associate Vice President, Operations – Construction is responsible for the supervision, development and management of Operations Directors, Project Managers and Project Engineers. This includes maintaining a balanced focus on people, performance, and growth.
• Ensures consistency of processes throughout Division, including project planning and management, manpower and dollar-loaded scheduling, monthly project forecasting, etc.
• Works closely with Field Operations Manager to implement all operations processes, including Job Hazard Analysis, Look-Aheads, safety processes, etc.
Management Responsibility:
Supervisor – responsible for hiring, performance management and pay administration for subordinates.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Science Management is strongly preferred. However, significant industry experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- The Associate Vice President, Operations – assists the Vice President, Operations to develop and implement an operations plan for the assigned geography or business unit that is aligned with the company’s overall strategic and business plans, initiatives, goals, etc. This includes the development of operations policies, procedures, structures and performance standards, within the boundaries of corporate policies and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, the design community and organizations to enhance future business development opportunities.
- Develop high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions.
- Direct supervision of performance for all Operations Directors and their teams.
- Assists Vice President, Operations – Construction in monitoring and analyzing expenditures, financial and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits in assigned operational unit. Coordinates activity with appropriate operations personnel to ensure total project budgets are met.
- Participates in corporate strategic planning. Additionally, leads strategic initiatives and reporting as identified in the strategic planning process.

- Minimum 5-7years experience managing an operations unit within the construction industry.
- Minimum of 10 years overall experience in mechanical construction.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of various construction operations methods, processes and industry standards. Thorough understanding of complete project life-cycle.
- Possesses deep technical skill in specific areas of operations expertise.
Physical and/or travel demands:
- Work will be done in a combination of environments; includes office setting, job sites, external meetings, etc. Regular local driving to job sites is required - occasional travel to other regional offices (involving overnight stays) will be required.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, use of monitor and telephone. Occasional climbing, reaching, stooping and lifting required.
- The range for this position has been established at $183,000.00 - $257,000.00 per year and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
