Senior Technology Manager
The Sr. Technology Manager – Applications & Data is responsible for the strategic oversight, financial management, data management and operational success of enterprise applications across the family of U.S. Engineering companies. This role enables business outcomes by ensuring applications, data, and analytics capabilities are aligned with organizational goals and positioned to scale with the business.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Build strong relationships with Executive and business leaders to understand priorities and identify opportunities where technology and data drive efficiency, insight, and growth.
- Serve as the strategic liaison between Operations, Accounting, and IT, translating business needs into scalable technology solutions.
- Define requirements, success criteria, and delivery timelines in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts by identifying process, system, and data optimization opportunities.
- Maintain a holistic view of the enterprise application portfolio, including ownership, integrations, costs, and business value.
- Align application roadmaps with business strategy and enterprise architecture in collaboration with the Solutions Architect.
- Establish and enforce governance standards for data ownership, security, integrations, and change management.
- Partner with IT to ensure applications are secure, reliable, and scalable.
- Manage vendor and implementation partner relationships, including contracts, licensing, and service performance.
- Oversee the application budget, validating spend and identifying opportunities for consolidation and cost optimization.
- Own the Salesforce platform and ecosystem, overseeing configuration, enhancements, roadmap prioritization, integrations, data integrity, and user adoption to support Sales, Marketing, and Operations objectives.
- Provide leadership for enterprise analytics and reporting, including data visualization tools such as Power BI, to deliver consistent and actionable insights.
- Define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting standards that support operational and executive decision-making.
- Promote a data-driven culture through self-service analytics balanced with strong governance and data quality controls.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to prioritize applications, integrations, and modernization initiatives across platforms such as Salesforce, Sage, BuildOps, Autodesk and Procore.
- Support Accounting and Operations by ensuring system data enables accurate job costing, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Champion user adoption, training, and change management to maximize system value.
- Mentor and guide the growth of business systems and data visualization capabilities while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or Communications related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in business systems management, technology strategy, or process improvement.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Sage, BuildOps, Autodesk, and Procore preferred.
- Hands-on experience as a Salesforce Administrator required (certification preferred).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage technology change.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience in the construction or service management industries highly desirable.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Proven ability to collaborate within multiple team environments to accomplish project and personal goals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly express ideas on technical topics both internally and when representing an organization at industry events.
- Expert ability to adhere to scope, schedule and budget, and leverage communication platforms to report the project status.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Know the retail software’s used throughout US Engineering, including Autodesk, Procore, Salesforce CRM, Sage, LMS, HRIS and related API’s.
Physical and/or travel demands:
- This is an active position that will be performed in a typical office setting, sitting at a desk, conference table, or standing in Manufacturing facilities and Construction job sites. Frequent use of computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone. Some standing, bending, and lifting is required.
- Anticipated airline travel with overnight stays expected to be quarterly or as needed. Vehicle travel among regional locations anticipated to be the same. U.S. Engineering locations:
- Core Office Buildings: Kansas City, Westminster CO
- Branch Offices: Springfield MO, Manhattan KS, Wichita KS, Colorado Springs CO, Loveland CO.
- Manufacturing Facilities: Lawrence KS, Johnstown, CO
- Jobsite locations: Varies Nationally
Benefits and Compensation:
- The range for this position has been established at $100k to $142K annually and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
- Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off.
