The range for this position has been established at $24.50 to $34 per hour and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

Purchasing Agent will be responsible for coordinating purchasing, receiving, inventory, and material logistics to support site maintenance/operations. The position will also ensure accurate documentation, on-time deliveries, organized storage, and compliance with safety/regulatory requirements.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Source materials/parts/services.
- research needs, obtain quotes (3 when required), secure approvals, maintain vendor relationships, support new vendor setup with accounting.
- Create/manage POs and cost coding in company systems (e.g., BuildOps/Sage/Maximo/Etc.)
- issue POs, enter ETAs, maintain order log, prevent unapproved substitutions.
- Track/expedite orders and back orders.
- vendor follow-ups, update team/PM Facilitator/Shift Foreman; copy Deputy Chief as required.
- Receive and verify deliveries.
- match PO/packing slip, label items (WO/Maximo #, stock, unit/system), stage/stock, scan/file packing slips; support invoice accuracy checks with Admins.
- Inventory & stockroom management across all storage areas (garage, boiler/chiller/tool rooms, etc.) Coordinate management of penthouse and outlying storage areas with PM Facilitator/Shift Foreman.
- Utilize rack/bay storage naming convention, maintain inventory lists, label/date containers, keep areas clean/inspection-ready.
- Own Belt/Filter program.
- maintain belt/filter matrix, inventory on arrival, coordinate distribution to buildings, periodic walkthrough counts with Lead PM Tech
- Maintain stock levels for critical supplies

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Procurement/materials or stockroom/inventory experience (construction, facilities, or mechanical preferred)
- Proficient with MS Office (especially Excel/Outlook); able to learn ERP/CMMS (BuildOps/Sage/Maximo/Etc.)
- Strong organization, follow-through, accuracy and communication; detail-focused and deadline-driven
- Able to lift/move materials and work in shop/warehouse/mechanical-room environments per site policy
- Ability to obtain/maintain government Q-level security clearance
Physical and/or travel demands:
- No travel required
- This position is done in a typical warehouse office type setting. Frequent use of computer keyboard, monitor, telephone and two-way radio. Some fork truck operation, standing, bending, and lifting is required.
