As a Marketing & Communications Intern, you will join a team responsible for telling U.S. Engineering’s story to both internal and external audiences. You'll gain hands-on experience across corporate communications, content development, graphic design, digital marketing, events, and brand management. You'll contribute to real projects used across the company.
We're looking for someone creative, curious, and detail oriented. You'll need strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple assignments and deadlines. The Marketing & Communications Intern will report to the Marketing Manager.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Serve as the communications lead for the summer intern group’s community project.
- Research recently completed U.S. Engineering projects and help tell their stories on the website and in proposals.
- Interview team members and subject-matter experts to gather information and develop stories about our people, projects, and company.
- Develop written and visual content for the website, social media, intranet, internal newsletter, and other communications.
- Assist with graphic design and the development of marketing and communications materials.
- Help coordinate internal and external events.
- Gain exposure to U.S. Engineering’s brand standards and help apply them consistently across communications and marketing materials.
- If you're interested, you'll get hands-on experience with video production in different environments, including offices, jobsites, and manufacturing facilities.
Education:
- At least a couple years toward your bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field. This is a position is for juniors and seniors.
Physical and/or travel demands:
- This position will work out of our Kansas City office.
- Frequent use of computer, including keyboard, viewing monitor for extended periods of time, physically moving throughout the office.
- Occasional day trips between construction job sites, offices, and manufacturing facilities.
Benefits and Compensation:
- The range for this position has been established at $19 to $23 and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
